Meet the Optometrists
Dr. Valerie Moulds OD
Best of Highlands County Optometrist
Dr. Valerie Moulds, OD is an Optometrist in Central Florida and has over 25 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University medical school in 1997 and focuses on primary care optometry for all ages.
Education
Dr. Moulds majored in Microbiology at the University of Central Florida and received her Bachelor of Science from Nova Southeastern University, as well as her Doctor of Optometry degree. She studied pediatric vision therapy at Nova Southeastern University, and is certified by the Brilliant Futures Myopia Management Program to fit MiSight contact lenses. Her externships included the Bay Pines VA Hospital and the well-known Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr. Moulds is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the Arizona Optometric Association. She is certified by the Florida State Board of Optometry, the Arizona Board of Optometry, and has her systemic medication certification.
Personal Information
Dr. Moulds was born in Bartow, FL and she grew up in Highlands County, FL. She and her husband, Rob, have three children Caitlyn, Rowan and Reeve. She enjoys horseback riding, exercising, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Courtney Beaumont OD
Dr. Courtney Beaumont, OD is an optometrist in Central Florida and has nearly 10 years of experience in the eye care field. She graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and focuses on primary care optometry for all ages.
Education
Dr. Beaumont graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science with a major in Biomedical Sciences. She then studied at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN graduating with honors. Her training included pediatric care, contact lenses, and surgical co-management in addition to primary care optometry.

Personal Information
Dr. Beaumont was raised in Land O’ Lakes, Fl. She and her husband, Cody, enjoy camping and kayaking and spending time with their children, both the furry and human ones!

Paula Adkins
Optical Assistant
Paula works at Pinnacle Vision Care as an optical assistant and ophthalmic technician. She loves how friendly and caring both the office and the patients are. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, walking trails, and reading. Her favorite candies are Sour Patch Kids, Mounds, and Life Saver Gummies.
Crystal Wakeland
Ophthalmic Assistant
Crystal has been an ophthalmic technician and contact lens specialist for over 20 years. She also serves as our special testing technician and front desk assistant at Pinnacle. She enjoys seeing the familiar faces she's gotten to know over the years. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and reading books. Her favorite candies are Nerd Clusters and Mr. Goodbar.
Jared Russell
Optician
Jared has been helping patients choose the perfect frames since 2019, and he is now a licensed optician. Outside of Pinnacle Vision Care, he enjoys spending time with his wife, hunting, watching movies, and cheering on his favorite football team. His go-to candies are Twizzlers and Reese’s Cups.
Amber Dumke
Office Manager
Amber has been an ophthalmic technician for 8 years and also serves as the office manager and front desk assistant at Pinnacle. She loves meeting new patients and helping them progress on their vision journey. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Amber also enjoys snuggling up with her fur babies. Her favorite candies are Nerd Clusters, Kit Kats, and Almond Joys.
Brittanni Smith
Optical Assistant
Brittanni has been an ophthalmic technician since 2018 and also serves as the optical assistant at Pinnacle. She enjoys having conversations and getting to know the patients she helps—and she’s always singing and dancing along the way! She loves spending her spare time with her children and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her favorite candies are Reese’s Outrageous Bars and Sweet Tart Chewies.
